You need a good map. I have an 07 Ultra also with slip ons and a/c and PC111usb. I easily get 40 avg. and 45 on highway.
You'll be disappointed going back to stock.
Wow, from reading everyone's mileage, something is clearly wrong, either with my calculations or the map. I divide the mileage on the trip by the gallons I filled since last fill up and I always reset the trip every fill up - always is between 35.5 and 37, two up or not. I shift between 2500 and 3K, 3K being max, usually when I am going from 5th to 6th. I guess I need to dive into this ecm and see what map is in there. I am a carb guy so this should be fun...guessing I can pull the ecm off and hook it up to my computer, or bring my laptop out to the garage and hook it up there - will have to read up on that more, I am sure there are hundreds of posts on that.
I'm curious. Most folks I know are getting 45~50 mpg on their touring bike 88's. I have a 2006 ultra with a stage 1 air filter and Screaming Eagle slip-ons. Other than that, the bike is stock and I always use premium gas. The stage 1 download has been installed. I get a consistant 40 mpg +/- one or two combined city and highway. My low fuel light always comes on, within a couple of miles, at 160. I then pump very close to 4 gallons. Why the difference? I'm not what you would call an "aggressive" rider so I'm baffled. Every other bike I've had beat the pack by several mpg.
Thanks for any thoughts.
get a good tuner and a good dyno and dyno tech... You should be a little closr to 50 mpg.. With the work I have done, I get 44-49 mpg or 230-250 miles per tank @ a 5 gallon or so top off depending on how I ride..

There's plenty of help here and from a site sponsor. Don't give up on the PC.
I have a 09 ultra with the fuel moto jackpot mufflers pcv/at and air cleaner. I am using there mpg map and get 41 around town. Before I changed to the mpg map I was getting 38 on the interstate. Have not been on a trip since I changed maps, but am happy with the around town mileage.
I do the math to figure out mileage and am careful to fill to the same spot in tank each time.
2010 TK limited with M/O slip on's
36.2 to 36.8 seem's to not change much
most of my riding is 75-85 hwy with a 84 mile commute to work
