Thunderheader is a great performance pipe. They sound good but they will rust.I had one on my Dyna I had to get it dyno tuned to get it to run right. The heat shelds are extra, allot of guys run them without the heat shields and wrap them. This looks OK on a Dyna but I think would look silly on a bagger. Before I got my bagger I ended up just gettng the top two heat shields and running like that I got tired of stripping and repainting it every couple years.

I've ridden for years with guys running all the major 2-1 exhaust. The thunder header is the best performing and the loudest. It's also the one that tends to look bad and fall apart regularly. No doubt, makes the most power. The Vance and Hines is loud, and tends to blue a little. Good quality chrome. Decent performance. The Rinehart is a beautiful pipe, but doesn't live up to the typical performance of a 2-1. The d&d is a good quality exhaust that makes pretty good power. It has its own sound unlike any of the others. I chose the d&d just because the different sound set it apart from the others. Hope this helps...

V&H power duals, with Thunderheader slipons... The bike is a monster.. Hard to beat the sound and performance! Never had any problems with them either..

You left out supertrapp probably one of the best quality made products, but probably too quiet for folks here unless you ran the open end cap. It has been known in certain areas, especially here in Ca. That TH's are being called out by LEOs in the new world of loud pipes are F'd with for noise violations.

Yes, if tuning is important, the supertrapp is the one. I've personally never known anyone that ran one, but the few I've heard didn't emit an appealing tone to my ears. Almost sounded like a leaking exhaust. I do appreciate the tuneability of them.
