Bike was not scratched and neither was my wife, I got out with a pretty good burn on my calf from the pipes and a pretty large bruise in my ego. On top of that we went to a local watering hole and everyone was checking out the bike and when we went to leave it wouldn't start, nothing, had to take the seat off and reconnect the pcv. I had forgotten to "lock" the connector back after doing some adjustments. I think I'll just stay home the rest of the evening.
Anyone that's been riding long enough has been there and done that. I'm glad it wasn't more serious. An experience like that is a good teacher. I avoid dirt and gravel road and driveways like they were a plague. I wasn't so bad when I was riding a Goldwing that had a reverse gear but handling an equally heavy Ultra Classic is enough by itself without trying to negotiate gravel.

Just about the same thing happened to me a bit over 2 weeks ago but I was solo. Had my leg pinned under the bike and thought I may have broken my leg but after 6 days I was finally able to stand on it without excruciating pain. Started riding again beginning of this week and have been on a couple 100 + mile rides and will probably do 200 today. There is a support group called goobersrus....

I've yet to get mine over far enough to have to bail-out, but I know my day will come. It's the high speed "tip-over" I'm most worried about!
I wish I could get my seat height down to about 20" (damn short legs!)

Get "Ride like a Pro". Really makes a difference. I can do figure eights with the wife aboard. Have to go a little wider on dirt or gravel though...

Glad everyone is ok.

Chuck Norris is so bad when he does a push-up it's not really a push-up he actually is pushing the earth down.

Ive dropped mine twice. One time on the side of the road just outside a tollbooth in PA (that was fun let me tell ya) and one time in a hotel parking garage in Gatlinburg. Nobody or nuthin hurt but pride and ego. They have since healed.

Chuck Norris just turned 70................born March 10, 1940

My two favorite Chuck facts:

When the Boggie man goes to bed, he checks the closet to make sure Chuck Norris isn't hiding in there.

Chuck Norris can lead a horse to water and make him drink.

I did it several years ago with my 14 year old son on board. We pulled into an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway and I was so into looking at the view I didn't notice that the pavement tilted away to the left. I pulled to a stop and went to put my foot down and . . . oh no . . . no ground! It was all kinda slow motion like. As soon as everything stopped moving I yelled to my son, "hurry let's pick this up before someone sees us"!! No witnesses to this day and plausible deniability is still intact! LOL!
