The bottoms are different - same size but different. That era had molded fiberglass compartments on the inside where the passenger backrest mounts.

Look at eBay and search MC parts for "Harley King tour pak , Trunk" and look at the tub pic to see what I'm describing.

Yes. I would have gone with the kit that uses the two backrest mounts for a cleaner look if I was buying new, but I had all the parts from my last ride, so I reused them.

Don't know about age, but at one time tour paks had pouches molded into the fiberglass. They would be an issue if you planned to add a fitted liner.

As for the Milwaukee Bagger two-up detachable tour pak rack that uses the forward docking points (sissybar/passenger backrest and solo tp rack) instead of HD's hoops, I have one and it's a nice piece.

I am thinking of making my own mount similiar to the above one but with my own personal touch.

Is there more vibration with the MB setup over the HD setup?
