Question What is this part???
Finally got around to cleaning the RKC's saddlebags...found this floating around in the bottom of one bag. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's kind of a hard rubber or soft plastic (about the consistency of a jiffystand bumper). No numbers or H-D logo anywhere on it.

Some kind of cover.
Does the other bag have one?

Me thinks it is the cover for one of the front fuel tank capscrews, one on each side of the frame, just ahead of the tank. Good luck.

Just found the one rattling around loose in one bag. Some kind of leftover from the previous owner; can't say it belongs in/on the saddlebag.

Looks like a bolt cover for the front mount of the gas tank.

plus 1 on the fuel tank cap screw. Kind've weird that it made it's way into your saddlebag. lol

Bike was an insurance salvage. I put new forks, fender, lower tree, crashbar on it. Who knows what stuff got knocked off the bike in the accident, and just tossed into a saddlebag. I'll see if it fits the tank bolt, or whether there is a matching one on the other side of the tank.

Looks like a no-go on it being a cover for the front gas tank bolt...any other ideas?
