I hooked my mp3 player this weekend and noticed the volume is about the same or less than fm radio. I got mp3 volume maxed out and stereo volume doesnt start to work till half way up and then goes to max.
I thought I would get louder w/mp3, my question is does cd burning have better volume?
I'll assume that by mp3's you mean an iPod or such but I use Nero burning software to burn cd's and it has volume control while burning - the mix cd's I burn and play have very good sound/volume quality. Rarely turn past half volume.
I have an iPhone that I use on my 2009 SG and the sound is about 20% louder than the radio and about 10% louder than the CD player.
It may be the brand of MP3 player that you are using. I would find someone with an iPhone or iPod and see if you notice the difference. I also adjusted the built in EQ until I found one that sounded good.
The biggest volume problem is the quality of the download. Some songs are loud and some are quiet. I put all my tunes on DATA format cd's and eliminated my mp3 player. Just seems to me that cd's do play a bit louder...
