I do. Not all the time. Called the dealer and asked how much to fix and they said $250. They take and send it to be repaired, takes about a week. Now get this, I asked how long does the repair last and he said 2 years and something will break on the radio again! Harley has issues with the radios. Has anyone used a CD cleaner on their cd players?

That's a completely ridiculous statement. With the exception of the 06 model year with liquid damage screen issue, the Harley radio's failure rate is no worse than any other OEM radio. Remove the damage done by the broken fairing brackets in the 06 and 07 and it's actually pretty impressive.

My '03 worked perfectly when new. Now skips at idle and stop and go traffic, don't use it anymore. Are you saying they're repairable? I'll have it fixed if its doable, just don't want to throw money at a garbage unit. Brackets been replaced once.

Your head unit is not a Harman Kardon. Your unit is from Radio Sound; HD's vendor. Call RS at (502) 267-6768 and ask for customer service; they're very helpful.

'08 ultra credit geezer glide

curious, anyone check the previous thread on this? there is a link to having an update done. also discusses the media types...like orginal vs. copies, and MP3's and so on. could be helpful. I'm not having any problems with mine, and I'd say I ride a bit here and there. lots of stop and go, and on some pretty treacherous crap after a snow fall. Pot hole central. all things considered, I'd say I have put mine through some crap, and bounced the heck outta it, but it is still making the right noises when it is supposed to.
