Default Best way to lower 2010 SG

I just bought a 2010 Street Glide and need to lower it so I can reach the ground flat footed. So what would be the best way to drop it a few inches?

The best and cheapest way is to have the nose on your seat narrowed.
I have an '08 (or '09 will work) Road Glide seat and it makes a huge difference.

I am using the seat from the SE Street Glide which is also narrower than stock. I also installed a set of the Progressive lowering cartridges and they are much better than using springs. It rides much better.

Listen to Texas Fat Boy. He knows his stuff. Don't waste your money on shocks or lowering kits. The problem is the stock Street Glide seat pan design. Change the seat to an 08/09 RG seat, 10 SE SG seat or any C&C seat and you will be much happier.

I have a 2010 RG and mine and the 2010 SG use the same shocks, already 12" so they are about as low as I would want to go and still have some comfort on the ride, you might lower the front forks by either installing new springs, or you can test fit it by sliding the fork tubes up the trees about an ince ( wouldn't go any farther) and see if that will help.
A new seat of have yours modified...other than that, double soles on booths.....

I only have a 28" inseam, so I know of what you speak....

Whatever you do get a new seat fast. That seat you have now will quickly start to scuff your fender and tank. I wish I would have known what I know now. I would have removed the stock seat the day I bought the bike.

Casper, you probably already know this, but just in case you don't, your bike has the same seat as the Street Glide. Change it to one of the seats listed above and you will be much happier. Texas Fatboy, myself and many others have learned that it is not the height of the bike or the length of the shocks that are the problem. It is the seat. Just trying to help.

I lowered my 2010 SG. Have 440 11.5 progressive shocks on rear and Harley front lowering kit for the SG and RG. I am 250 lbs wife is 100 with both of us on it, it rides like an old grain truck. I think the faring is going to fall off of it I ride easy and am careful. It does not seam to matter how I set the 440's its still terible. I also have the reach seat it works well. I can flat foot the bike, but am not sure its worth it.
