I have a '02 Road King. I just bought a set a Progressive 940 shocks. I just got them today and put them on the bike. I can't ride until tomorrow, because I'm watching my 4 year old daughter.
But, I did take the bike for a quick ride down the street. It felt good, but I can't give any feedback until I put on some miles.
Anyway, what is everyone using for adjustment? Factory setting? a few clicks? I will be riding 2 up and I don't want to bottom out. We weight about 350lbs together. Any recomendations before we go out for a ride?
I read a few posts but can't find a lot of info about these shocks.
Well I put around 60 miles on today with the wife. I left the shocks on the factory soft setting. I don't see any reason to change it. It rode great. The wife told be numerous time, how well the bike felt.
Shocks are tight but not harsh, more of a sporty feeling.
I have a 01 Road King and just installed them. A much better ride than the old air but I'm noticing a little vibration at higher speeds (60-70). Does anyone know the correct torque for the bolts? The instruction that came with the scocks are not clear. They require that the shock mounts have a minimum clearance of .02" to insure the mounts are not binding and show a pic of a .02" clearance between the mount and the and the flat washer. Don't know how you can do this as the bolt also has a lock washer. How tight do the bolts have to be?
