RoadisBill,
I hope the new wirte fixes it for ya BUT I am convinced my failures, on my 08 EGlide was from the big computer wires pug directly under the seat...the seat applied pressure to the plug thus making it lose connection for a tiny second and that tripped a "failure" in the computer system, It gave an error code but I cannot recall what it was. Since the plug cannot be moved (battery is directly beneath it) I cut a relief in the seat pan (plastic) directly over the plug, then used the rectangular piece I cut out, turned it 90 degrees, and placed it up in the seat pan to act like a bridge so the foam of the seat would not bulge down and bear on the plug.
My bike only did it when riding 2up. I weigh about 215 and my GF is about 130 so not a lot of weight really...but enough to torque the plug and lose connection.
You can read on here how to get the error codes and what each error code means. ya might try that before dropping moneys that will not/ may not fix it.
I'm old school and don't think very highly of TBW. You don't have to build something just because you can. Scares the hell out of me. I'll take cables any day. I have even read of some aircraft crashes because of this system.

I agree, some things are better left simple. I would rather have a cable system on my 2009 Street Glide, I'd feel one less worry about failure...........

Exactly....nobody ever had a cable fail and older design aircraft never crashed.

Really? Never been a mechanical failure to cause a plane crash? You clearly were drinking when you chose your screen name. Or I didn't hear the sarcasm in your post.

The first time my bike has a TBW failure I hope it's not on the interstate doing 90! If it happens and I survive, I'm trading the bike in on a Softail (still uses cables)!
