I got my Limited back Friday. Dealer had sent ECM to the MOCO. Rode a couple hundred miles in the heat this weekend and it seems much better. I think that may have fixed my power loss when hot issues. Seems to run stronger, and even sounds better through all RPM's. My right side muffler was on back order so have to wait on it. Overall i'm pretty satisfied with how the dealer worked with me even though I was without the bike for a couple weeks.
I have about 3500 on mine and know problems. I have gotten rid of the cat and added AC, S&S cam, Monster ovals and SERT. Run great could not be happier.

I have a stock 2010 Road King with about 4K miles. Went for a 2 hour ride yesterday in 100 degree tempts and had all the problems.
Money is tight right now(unemployed) and I'm a pissed to read that everyone has had to make mods to fix or attempt to fix these issues with new bikes and pay for them out of pocket.
Also, my air shocks leaked like a few have posted.
I will be writing a letter to moco and keep you posted.
My bikes color is Red Hot Sunglo but I think thats the engine temp.

Weird sounds FLHTK 2010
I had a weird sound after I did stop and go for 15 minutes at low speed in a Market near Ottawa. The weather was pretty hot (for here). The sound was like I was braking dishes. As soon as I speeded up, the sound stopped and I haven't heard anything since.
Tonight I have been advised by another biker that my lights were not working in the back??? I've got my bike on June 2, 2010 brand new... 5600 kilometers now.
I got stuck in a little bit of traffic yesterday and had the EITMS activate a few times. Air temperature was right around 105 degrees, and there was no breeze to speak of. Once I got moving, the bike cooled off a little and all was well.
The same thing happens to me every day on my ride home from work. I just blip the throttle before I take off to activate the rear cylinder and all is well. I think the EITHS works as advertized as the right side feels cooler against my leg after a few minutes stopped at a light. My bike doesn't seem to loose any power when hot. I would take your bike in to the dealer and have them check it out.
i asked the service manager where i bought my bike if the '09 headpipe for the 96" ultra would fit on my '10 ultra limited 103 " motor. he said it WOULD NOT FIT ! now i hear some of you ARE putting the '09 pipes on your limited"s ? tnx.
I run an '09 headpipe from a 96" Ultra on my 103" limited. It fits... you won't be able to use the O2 sensors tho - so you will have to plug the holes and run a fuel management system that does not require them - such as a PCV.
Wow....just finished reading all "13" pages on this thread! Guess I'll chime in too. Have a '10 Ultra (not limited...PO edition). Got the stage 1, Rinehart slip-ons and Master Tuner put on before delivery; still has the stock headers for now. My first HD bike. 5,080 miles on it now (just did the 5k service myself).
Right away- noticed that power is total **** in 6th gear going uphill while riding 2-up. More specifically, the bike is completely unable to maintain its speed in 6th gear at around 75 mph going up a steep bridge and I have to downshift to 5th gear just to maintain......not gain speed. I have never experienced this on my former bikes. Been complaining about this ever since I got it and everyone thinks I'm an idiot. Good to see this post, lol.
Set to get the X pipe from Fullsac Performance next and have it dyno'd again. I think this thread reaffirms that the CAT must go and the heat will follow.

Is anybody got that kind of things.
Thanks
Sounds like your bike was overheating... detonating and complaining. You might want to check and see if the EITMS feature is turned on.
When the bike gets hot, the computer pulls timing. That's what it's designed to do. I would much rather have it do that than detonate itself to oblivion.
Where did you read this? I suspect that this is what is happening but does not say this with my supertuner owners manual. I have a pcv on the bike now and with my oil temp reading 230 stuck in traffic i can hear and feel the rear cylinder kicking out at idle with the heat management on. It says it turns off the rear cylinder at 300 F so that shows you that the oil temp does not show the cyl temp. Now when i went to push the bike it seemed very sluggish after the heat management was kicking on in traffic. I believe that it is either cutting back timing or cycling the fuel injectors as it states in the supertuner manual untill it gets below the 300F that it states in the manual. I seem to think that even with the heat management shut off that it will either shut off the injectors every other stroke or cut the timing back at a certain head temp.
