Default Myrtle Beach Rally

I just wanted to hear thoughts on Myrtle Beach for the spring rally. I went in the fall and decided I wouldn't go in the spring because it was so bad. Well I got talked into going Friday to Sunday of the second week. Once again I was completely disappointed. The vendors were almost non existent and one of the main reasons I go. There were definitely more bikes than the fall but the feel of the rally for me is gone. Every single merchant, hotel person or vendor I spoke with complained about attendance. In any event I was just wondering what the consensus was.

I spent sunday to sunday down there...had a blast. You had to do a little searching for the vendors because they were so spread out.

We live just down the road in Charleston. Bunch of my friends went. Said they had a good time! Apparently it has turned into an "old rally" of sorts. Not all the vendors and flashy show bikes and TV show biker rock stars. More room for the common folk and beer for great prices everywhere... So I was told anyway.

Might go next year.

did a day run down to beach HD and the north myrtle beach area on sat. We had a good time, but i think the rally itself is on the way out. With that being said, i think there is always going to be something going on in the area the week after mothers day for bikers. I to like the vendors and there was a shortage of them to be found. But i did not mind not having to deal with all the traffic.

I was there Sunday to Sunday. Yeah, it was low key, but I had a good time. I've been going for 20 years now and don't miss the traffic or crowds. As far as the vendors go, I don't really miss them. I don't need another t-shirt, have too many leather jackets, and don't want a gremlin bell.

I don't the think the rally is dead. People have been going to bike week for 7 decades and will continue to go. I think it has gone thru a cycle that was nearly needed..yeah, flame me now...It had grown almost too large. The B.S. politics have pruned it back, but I predict it will start to grow again...Heck even the attendance growth difference in this spring and last spring was noticeable.

Wife and I decided ride down to Murrell's Inlet for the last weekend. We got a last minute room at the Holiday Inn, across from Suck,Bang,Blow. Called on Thursday afternoon for Saturday night. While we were there on Saturday, they still had open rooms.

Had a great time, drank some beer because we were short walk from SBB, Beaver Bar and Finz and Hoofs. The bands at all 3 places were really good and we floated around to see each for a while.

Beers at Beaver Bar were $2.00, can't beat that.

Crowds were way down. Lots of beer girls just standing in front of the tubs waiting for people. Most of the waitress' and bar people we talked to said less people, and those people were spending less money.

Everybody we talked with was avoiding Myrtle Beach completely.

My wife and I went Sunday to Sunday, stayed at Murrells Inlet. Had a Blast! I said I wasn't going to spend any extra money, But after seeing the Pit-Bull Lift and watching the guy that builds them and his friend both climb up on the Road King and sit down, I was sold. I did get the Rally price. Great lift!!! Like the other poster said, the vendors were spread out, But there were some good ones there.

While we were there, I didn't see a single biker stopped by a cop. I did see a lot of cagers getting ticket's. They were all locals too!

Glad those of you that went and had a good time enjoyed it but I wouldn't give Myrtle Beach a dime for the way they done bikers.

We didn't spend a dime inside MB city limit's. The business's north and south welcomed bikers. They really went out of their way to make sure you felt welcome. The city of MB hurt a lot of good folks with their BS attitude towards Bikers.
