I have ALREADY swapped my stock SG shield for a 6.5 Klock. 4 YEARS AGO Have the short Klock for a RG on my 2010. I don't mind wind in my face!!!

If the stock SG shield was SO dangerous i highly doubt the MoCo would still be putting on production bikes after 5 years!!!

Those sticking with the stock Street Glide windshield obviously aren't taking their bikes above 65-70 MPH for any extended period of time. Those that claim they do don't recognize the lift that's being created the faster they go and are just asking for trouble.

The lift does not come from the stock Street Glide windshield but from the design of the fairing (did you even bother to view the short YouTube video I posted above???). The Klock Werks Flare windshield was specifically designed to counter this with down force. Am I the only one who does their homework? This new generation expects everything to be handed to them.

Bat wings have been regulary running over 65 mph for 50 years or so. I have purchased 3of Brian's windshields so I have no reason to run them down, but it would be safe to assume that he has an agenda in raising concerns about the safety, or lack there of, with the design of the batwing fairing. That agenda would obviously be to sell more of his windscreens.

I have the 6.5. Good at 50 and from there on it gets worse for me. I'm 5'9" and plan to get something taller. I like the looks but I like function better.

Kroozeabout.

I'm in full agreement with you. That's why I mentioned stability. With the KW you don't get "the dance" up front.

But dude, you're tough people...

Obviously not as dense (or gullible) as you. I watched the damn video!!! What I saw was a man, specifically Brian Klock, talking at length about how HIS windshield design was better. What I saw was a SALES pitch! I saw no film of the actual wind tunnel tests to support his claims. If I had, I still wouldn't put much credence in the results as it was not an independent test. You see, if it were an INDEPENDENT test there would be no parties involved with a vested interest in the results. They would neither gain from the sale of the motorcycle OR the windshield. Mr. Klock wants to sell windshields, period! The more people, such as yourself, who he can convince that their Harley is going to take off and fly, the more he will sell. If you had, as you claimed, done your homework, then you surely could have found some evidence somewhere of a non Klock equipped, bat wing faired HD actually taking flight.

Now to the rest of you riders with bat winged baggers reading this, you have only 1 of 3 choices.

1) Don't modify your motors to the point that you scoot will readily attain speeds of 100+ mph (although I think it was posted that the chance of flight actually starts at 65-70mph)

2) Purchase a Klock Works Flare windshield to keep it on the ground.

3) Obtain a pilots license and fly the friendly skies!!!

Would you be considered a sissy if you are worried about a little front end lift while twisting the throttle a little. C'mon live a little! Bat Wings have been around for much longer than Brian Klock. I'm sure his wind tunnell testing shows that his windscreen does make the front end more stable but that does not mean the bike without it is not safe.

WHAT gets worse? The wind in your face or is the bike trying to get out from under you?

dude, you're tough people
It's a Brooklyn thing. Gotta have thick skin to live in NYC.

Obtain a pilots license
Already have one. Having owned my own aircraft and raced Porsches, I know a thing or two about the effects of dirty air at speed.
