I have a question. With all the downforce being applied to the batwing, has anyone thought about what this is doing to the batwing itself? Is this designed to withstand this applied downforce. You have went from 35 to 40 pounds of lift to 15 ponds downforce. You say that is a 40 to 45 pounds of difference. There have been several post about broken brackets in the batwing. Is this part of the reason. Just wondering if the batwing was designed or has been tested for this change in downforce? What is this doing to the batwing, especially the top where the windsheild is mounted?

Well then you, of all people, should know that a Harley isn't capable of flight at any speed no matter what windshield is on it.

I have the 6.5 on my 2010 Street Glide and am very happy with it. I am 6'6" so it doesn't eliminate the wind from the face but does clean it up to where it is much like riding without a windshield. Still catch a few bugs, but not as often as with no fairing.

If you are interested I have a 6.5 tinted that is brand new. When it arrived the tint was slightly lighter than stock so I ordered the dark smoke instead. PM for details if you want to make me an offer.

Devil Dog,, take a chill pill, ok? I also think that if the "Lift" claimed isn't that dangerous, I also have a '10 SG,, and have been 80+ on it,, feels fine to me. (not broke in completely yet,, or it would have been faster I am sure) Yes, there may be a bit of truth to his claim of "Lift",,, but the bat wing design has been with MOCO since what,, the late 60s? I would be sure if it was dangerous, there already would have been lawsuits against HD,, with todays society and their "Suehappy" attitude.

I am sure the bike feels better with the KW shield, or one like it... but would never come close to calling them "Dangerous" in the stock mode...

i'd like to comment on the down force issue i have no real data except for coming home from panama beach in the driving rain i actually watched rain water hit my windshield and travel downward toward the fairing.... i thought it was incredibly odd... so i did the reasearch and found it supposed to do that. hmmm btw i have the 8.5 and would gladly trade for a 6.5 since mine is just perfectly topped out in my line of sight. i am 5'8" with a daytripper seat... i hate looking thru the winsheild especially since its curved. i either stretch my neck to see over it or squat to see thru it.....

It's a Brooklyn thing. Gotta have thick skin to live in NYC.

Already have one. Having owned my own aircraft and raced Porsches, I know a thing or two about the effects of dirty air at speed.

wind in my face, glasses start to bounce around, therefore
everything I'm looking at starts to move around. Don't like that. I live with it but I don't

think it's self for me or the other people around me.

Sorry thought I had made that clear with alot less words.
My mistake. New here, will try to be more detailed. I have a tendencey to
think in my head and not put it on paper, so to speak.

Tough crowd all the way around, I'm almost afraid to ask this question. I just installed a 6.5 dark smoke on my 09 SG. Here's my problem, the distortion is so bad I can't see through. Its so bad the bike is not safe to ride. Has anyone experienced this or is it possible I have a bad one? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

How tall are you??? To be lookin' thru 6.5 KW you hafta be layin' on the tank like you're ridin' a crotch rocket.

To answer your ? though. The view is distorted because of the tight raduis there on the "hips" on each side. They're all like that. Well, at least the 3 I have/had. I can see "through" the center of them though.
