Default American Elite availability?

I know Dunlop is planning to launch these "American Elite" tires for the unique-sized '09 touring models:

http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tire...ire.asp?id=109

Last time I checked, no one had ANY inventory yet and Dunlop told me they were hoping to ship in the summer. Any one hear anything different? Or better yet, know who's selling them NOW?

I'm pushing past 10K miles on my original set and will need tires soon. I don't expect I'll be able to wait until the fall and I don't want to commit myself to another set of the 407/408 crap I'm riding on now.

The distributor is showing a 08/30 ETA as if today.

If you know you want these, you really should get them on order with a company that does not charge up front (like ourselves). These seem to be very popular and with an ETA so far out, it would not surprise me to see the entire production run entirely sold out before it's produced. Best of luck regardless where you purchase from.

Just got off the phone with Jake Wilson. They are expecting the Dunlop American Elite tires to be available in mid-June and are taking pre-orders - $283.98 (front & rear) no sales tax (out-of-state) and free shipping to my door. No charges applied to the credit card until the tires are ready to ship. Good deal.....I'm on the list!

As an option, the Metezler ME880 for the 09's are available now. Found a big nail in my rear tire yesterday and needed a set now. $268 shipped to house. My front tire is cupping bad enough at 7K that Harley would replace under recall, but why would I use any more of Dunlop's crap.

I'm REALLY BUMMED that the release of Dunlop American Elites has been delayed. Jake Wilson told me they'd be available June 18th, then that changed to July 9th, and NOW IT'S Sept 27th. My front tires is a cupped mess and it rides like crap! I was soooooooo hoping these tires would be out before needing to change, but I can't wait another 3+ months. Seems like I'll be stuck with the replacement 408.....which I really don't want. Ugh!!
