Anyone got any experience with these on an Electra Glide? My son-in-law just ordered me a new one, should be here the end of the week. He knew I needed a new rear tire, and took it upon himself to go ahead and do this. I asked why, he said "hey, you guys helped us out when we needed it, so I'm just returning the favor. That's what families do." I guess this kid is ok after all! I looked them up online, and it looks like a decent tread, says it gives better traction and mileage, etc (what you'd expect a place to say about their own product!) I'm still running a stock Dunlop (elite 2) on the front so I'm a little nervous about that. I never liked mixing tires on a bike. Do it all the time in the cage, but never have before on a scooter! I'm a little apprehensive about this tire....especially since it cost under a hundred....appreciate any info/experience anyone has to offer!

Here is what I know from experiance on the Honda VTX forum when I owned my VTX1800. Shinko tires are made by Yokohama, with some mystery of where, Korea/Japan. The Shinko radial MC tires have had an ongoing issue with tread delamination and failure. The original model, if I remember was the 707, which was discontinued do to failure, then the 747 was introduced and pulled from the market, due to failure. Before the 747's were pulled I almost bought a set for my VTX, I tried to call and web search Shinko. No answers via phone and web searching all went to dead ends. Again radial Shinko's have much bad history, their bias tires I have no knowledge on. I would not run their radials, even if a replacement has been made for the 747's. I assume you are running bias tires, but with no where to turn if a problem, I wouldnt use 'em. I hear the Elite III's are a good tire for the money and are avail in bias.

Sounds ching chong to me... I don't think I want to go there. Never had a problem with Dunlops myself. Did he take out a life insurance policy and name himself as the beneficiary?

My brother in law put a set on his wing and is very happy with them. I almost bought a set for mine, but they were on back order, so i ended up getting e III's
I just ordered a set for my old school chopper project - Guys I talked to said they were good a tire but they had soft rubber & wore out in a few thousand miles - Great traction tire - This old chopper of mine won't leave the city limits so they should work for me - But I don't think I would put them on my Ultra
Shinko makes great tires. Has some made just for smokey burnouts and lots of V rated tires in sportbike sizes. I ran them on my CBR100F and my Buell Thunderbolt S3 at speeds over 150 mph. It is a Korean company and they purchased Yokahama's molds. good tires for the money and mine lasted a long time and I was NOT easy on them. They have some cruiser sized tires and I'll most likely try them this year.
