security fob spare..programing question

Default security fob spare..programing question
I bought a spare security fob on e-bay recently. The owners manual says the Dealership must program the stupid thing. Does someone know, can I do this myself? Thanks for any info. (2008 FLTR)

Just got a spare for my '08 Ultra and the dealer had to hook it up to the computer and 'introduce the fob to the bike'

So no you can not do it yourself.

No, and be sure you bring both fobs when you go so they can keep them in synch. It only takes about 1/2 hour to do. Most dealers will program the fob for free if you bought it there. I'd assume they'd charge you since you didn't.

yeah it's kinda an anti theft thing not to let the average joe program it.

If I am not mistaken you can only have two fobs assigned to your bike at any one time.
