I had two 4-wheel atvs stolen in less than 6 months. I have heard a rumor that one of them, the brand new when stolen one (only had it one month, paid over 5 grand cash!) is now less than 5 miles from me. Waiting til I am off probation and then I am going to do some snooping.
Good luck to the OP. I hope you come out satisfied with this, whether it is with the bike safely returned or a settlement that satisfies you. I hate thieves! They need their hands broken when caught. Not cut off, then we would have to support them.
Well no news other than the police Vehicle theft task force called me, and asked more questions.
The question I keep asking myself is do I make that claim on my homeowners insurance to recover the contents of the bags , like a snap-on road side tool kit , a Garmin zumo 550, Gerbing plug-in gloves, vinyl bags, disk lock with tether, leather harley jacket, rain gear, chapps, harley rain gloves, rinding glasses, rain riding goggles, kickstand disk, first aid kit, tire repair kit, a leather harley belt (wifes), and probably more that I can't think of. home owners is $1000.00 deductible.
Plate # 32077 by the way
them damn zumos are serious bank, I'd kill the bastard for that ! Hope you get your scoot back, that's gotta suck man. The wife has to be pissed over the belt!! (just makin light) cheer up bro, things will work out in the end. Don't let the ins co lowball ya.
What ins. Co. do you have ?
I have Geico insurance, The crappy thing about the belt ,is I just came from the dealer with her before work and forgot to take it out never put it on still had tags on it,along with a new hair band thing for her.
Wow, my riding buddies always laugh at me when I use a chain and lock on over nights, but I teld tham that I just have to make mine harder to steal then theirs.
I have Geico and they were very liberal with the settlement for my bike after I hit a dog last October. That is, they settled very much in my favor and were very good to work with, must better than I expected. You should have at least some coverage for your personal items, like the Zumo, etc. I hope your adjuster is as good as mine was.
Sorry to hear of your loss, I too have been there. I had Dairyland insurance and they were very helpful with the dollar of the claim. I sent pictures and receipts for the add ons. The claim adjuster called me and told me I was missing the receipt for the forward contols and the mirrors. I was given 100% for the H/D receipts and lees of a % of the aftermarket items depending on the age. I had one check for the majority of the claim in 3 days. The remainder 10 days after that. Good luck with yours.
