I hope your insurance takes care of you the right way. Please keep us informed. As another poster stated, usually once a bike is stolen, you don't want it back as the MFrs probably beat the chit out of it or strip what they want an you end up with a basket case. Good luck to you.
Best thing would be is the thieves get caught and shot on site! I hate thieves!
There's still hope. A friend had his FJR1300 ripped off here in Japan. Normally these are shipped overseas right away and sold to unsuspecting buyers. Three months later, a forum member spots it parked at the busiest station in Shinjuku. My friend comes down and rides it home.
That is absolutely amazing-- I know how busy Tokyo and in particular that station is--not to mention how big it is. Karma was surely on his side that day!
I rode it to work , worked a 16 hour day, came out at 3:30 am, and it was gone, from the back parking lot of work ,just outside the shop , I was no more than 50 yards from it all night long.
There are a couple of bikes stolen here at work every year, when they aren't stealing other vehicles or tailgates. The lot is well covered with security cameras but for some reason they never seem to be pointing that direction when something goes missing.
Well no news other than the police Vehicle theft task force called me, and asked more questions.
The question I keep asking myself is do I make that claim on my homeowners insurance to recover the contents of the bags , like a snap-on road side tool kit , a Garmin zumo 550, Gerbing plug-in gloves, vinyl bags, disk lock with tether, leather harley jacket, rain gear, chapps, harley rain gloves, rinding glasses, rain riding goggles, kickstand disk, first aid kit, tire repair kit, a leather harley belt (wifes), and probably more that I can't think of. home owners is $1000.00 deductible.
