Yeah, I've been having this idle problem and it's getting to be more of a problem for a few months now. If I'm cruising and coming to a stop (from 20 mph on down) with the clutch pulled in, the idle would drop to 750 or so with oil pressure dropping, voltage dropping to 12 volts or lower until the bike comes to a complete stop. I can pretty much tell when the bike will start to act up because I notice more decel popping in the exhaust almost like the ECM has lost the TPS settings. After the bike rolls to a complete stop, the idle returns to normal. I have replaced the TPS and thought for a time (just a couple of days) that it was resolved. Nope, same symptoms. Iclick, you can email the bulletin to me at mongomark@aol.com
I have this exact issue with my bike. Did you have a solution ?
All,
Just started two days ago. Pretty much stock 96 only change is stage I air box and a FP3. Ive had the air and FP3 for at least a year now with no issues. But now Im riding and when I come to a stop it stays around 1500-2000 rpms. Help! Thanks
Update! Rode home from work ( its about 75 miles all highway) now idle is stuck at 3900 rpms.

Check your intake seals for a leak , could be the rubber cap on the throttle body has completely deteriorated and fell off . I don't know what bike you have , but the cap I am referring to is on the top of the TB and just to the left of the rear injector , if it's the same as mine .
Just plugged in the FP3 and looked at the code in the maintenance part. Says P0505 Idle speed control unstable. Computer unable to control the idle speed. Check for ignition system faults. Anyone have this or know what that could be? I'm hoping I don't need a new ECM? Thanks, MikesArmy
If the cap looks good , not cracked or dry it should be good . I would suspect that with a huge just in rpm's , it may also be a malfunctioning IAC . Get yourself a can of throttle body cleaner and put a rag inside under the IAC valve and spray it up inside there . You can test it by cycling the engine to see if it opens and closes . It may need a good cleaning , 2 or maybe 3 times to be sure , or it could be fudged .
First, thank you to all for the time to share your experience and expertise. My 07 SG SES3 runs great when we leave the house. The problems occur above the 180 degree mark. Too many red lights, stop signs or traffic backup and she idles roughly. We're either sputtering to a crawl or there's a sudden unexpected boost of power, while braking. Didn't panic but the rpms went up, with no input to the throttle, 20 feet from grandma's rear bumper. Opening the TB seems to be the only remedy. She also stalls during downshifts (with decel pop), and now will shut off in the middle of a turn if I change gear. Diagnostic codes have been P0108, P0131, P0152 and P0374. New plugs and O2 sensors were installed 2 mos ago. New engine temp sensor 2 days ago. Was on my way to replacing the CPS. Removed orig CPS, cleaned and reinstalled. Performance seemed better, but that was because engine twas still relatively "cool" .
Odd the exact same symptoms experienced by all of us, can be caused by this many different parts failing, and that computer aided diagnosing cant even pinpoint the culprits. CPS on order, due to a different thread, same issue. yet now I'm seeing that this may not do anything at all to fix. I figured maybe there's just not enough air for these parameters, with this setup and I might need to change to an intake that pushes more volume or the cats are getting clogged. Remove baffles or swap exhaust/IAC? Even my mechanic was stumped after 'd furinshed a copy of SB M-1186. Will try TB cleaner as a band aid but looks like I need to have the ECM flashed based upon current calibration ID A34470-07C. Can I DIY if I get the interface cable or will I have to trust that the dealer won't screw my bike up further while-u-wait? Can have my indy do the IAC motor to save time
My IAC must've gotten dirty again late last fall. The common stalling problems mentioned here before. I got lazy and it got cold and I just parked the bike.
I'm getting it ready to ride if spring ever arrives. One more thing to add to add to my spring routine. It's easy to do.
