Batwing here and yes it does work. I have the same wind protection with a 9.5" w/ recurve as with the stock 12" and no buffeting. The 9.5" is well below my line of sight unlike the 12" stock which was directly in the middle of my line of sight. Also, Clearview will let you mount and test ride the shield and return it if it isn't right for you as long as you don't remove the protective film. They are the only company I have ever heard of that will allow you to actually try the shield.
I went with one of their so called blemished shields so no wait time and scratch hardly noticeable. Stock '09 Ultra and 6' 2".
Just make sure you buy the "Recurve" option.
Some people here have not done that and can't tell the difference. Ya think?
Absolutely they work.
Also get a between the fork baffle and you will be set.
I have a clearview and I don't notice much difference at all. I am going to get a Freedomshield. They are better made (thicker) have polished edges and the curve is more pronounced hence should perform better.
I have been running with no windshield for years. Partly because of the apes but mostly because of the buffeting. Longer trips would be nice with some wind relief. Is the recurve the real deal?
The Clearview recurve pushes the airstream higher than a comparable sized shield without the recurve. That is all it does, but does it very effectively. The quality and finish of the Clearview shields is excellent.

Hey Fewe, How tall are you and have you changed out your seat or anything?
how tall are you, and do you want to look through it or over the top of it? I have a Clearview Shield with recurve that I am about to put up for sale (decided to get a shield that I look through instead of over), so I would give you a smoking deal so as to see if you like it... let me know! Andrew
PS It is 21.25" high x 25" wide - stock is 20 x 24, and if you bought this shield from Clearview, it would be over $200, and you would have to wait 4-6 weeks.
