Anyone ever drag race their Harley? I went to a local dragway yesterday evening with my Dad on a test and tune day. It was pretty cool. I watched, but my dad dragged his harley. He has a 88 softtail bored up to 95 with compression, ignition, heads, pistons, Cams, etc. all the good **** and some NOS. He has never used the NOS yet, so we thought we would try on the 1/4 strip. The track sells NOS, but they didnt have the fitting we needed to adapt to it. So he really didnt get to do what he wanted to. He was running 13's without NOS. He has stock Harley tire so it was breaking loose in 2 and 3 gear. Couldnt get it to grip well. It was neat to the least to see all the other bikes, trucks, cars, mini draggers, etc. taking it to the track. There were some Hyabusas running 8.9 and 9's. pretty cool stuff in my opinion.

I drag raced my Sportster a few times. Once was at a small local 1/8 mile. It was hilarious as I beat a guy on a ZRX1100 Kawi 5 out of 5 times because he didn't know how to cut a good light. Do0d was frustrated as all get out.
LOL. Yeah, my dad won each time from the others red lighting. But it is more for timing and tuning than racing. But they do have a trophy race towards the end of the night where you try to get as close as you can with a certain time. It is my Dad's everyday rider. If I remember right he was getting in the 100's MPH. I didnt think it was bad.
I used to race my buddies on rice rockets with my buell. I would blast them out of the water if I could keep the front down and tire from spinning. But I could only take em into the bottom of 4th gear then they left me in the dust.
Here in Sydney we have the Western Suburbs Intl Dragway which is open every Wednesday and Friday night in summer.
I took my bike up there a while back before it was in its current tune. Its quite challenging. My Reaction Times were shocking - 0.332 sec was the worst!!
I was running low 12s which wasnt enough to beat the R6s / CBR600s (mid to high 11s), but was enough to beat a VTR1000 honda with a very surprised rider. There were stock R1s lining up and reeling off high 10 sec passes. Now that she is tuned up she will run an 11, i just need to get back there and have a go.
I took my '06 EGC to the drag strip a couple of years ago. It ran 14.6-14.7 at 88-89mph. I need to get the new Limited to the strip to see what it runs.
