Not exactly true. With the 2010 SEPST you can download whatever map is currently on the bike that was downloaded through the VCI (such as a dealer's tune or flash upgrade). Since there will be a copy of the ECU's map stored on the VCI, the 2010 version of the software allows anyone with the software to download the map off the VCI on a laptop and save, modify, rename whatever you wish. I've done it literally many times while tuning my 2010 SE Ultra.

My reply was to the poster whose dealer had lost his VCI. I dont believe the SESPT will allow you to download the original map from the bike, only the one that has been flashed with the VCI. The TTS allows you to download the original calibration id and map from a stock bike.

Hey Lonewolf176, I see we are neighbors, so that means you know the dealer I am talking about. I plan to go in on Wednesday to talk to the top man and see if he will right the wrong.

If I do GET the SERT, then that is fine, as this dealer will warranty my bike since they did the 110 install and SERT when it was new. However other dealers will not, and if i am in the states on the road I could have a hefty tow charge back to my local dealer just to have something repaired under warranty.

I have some decisions to make which bring out a few questions:
1. My dealer will never give me the map they built, But if I go the TTS route I can at least download the map they built intact and upload it later if I need service. Yes?
2. If I go the TTS route, can I find a "stock" map and download it to the bike if I wanted to go stock for a day?
3. Perhaps the stock map is already in the ECM and just needs to be made active?
4. I have been reading the V-Tune procedure and it seems I have to haul the laptop with me while recording the ride? (I will be classified as nerd for certain) grin!

The TTS does seem to be the better alternative as I can read and download maps, It would seem I can also have a map for touring and a map for regular street usage. I am really quite happy with my bike, the tune is not too bad but is slightly off in some areas and I would like options.
