260 is a high normal on a hot day in traffic. Hopefully you are running synthetic 20W50 motorcycle oil. My 08 Ultra SE3 oil temps run 230-275 on a hot day, and I have about the same set up with an oil cooler, 20W50 Amsoil motorcycle oil.
All the newer bikes run very HOT!
The Harley stage 1 down load does nothing to the F/A ratio all it does is increase the RPM limiter to 6000 RPM.
Not true. It also modifies the Volumetric Efficiency tables for the front and rear cylinder. It also modifies the Closed loop bias table.
i have a 2008 Road Glide, stage I Screaming Eagle Compact Heavy Breather, Screaming Eagle Performance Touring mufflers, Screaming Eagle Race Tuner. was at the dealer the other day and asking about installing a oil cooler. service writer stated 260 is normal on hot humid day. and suggested using synthetic oil, if oil temp was around 300 then he said to install an oil cooler.
I'd be freaking out if I saw 260 on my temp gauge. The highest I ever saw was 240 or maybe 245 and that was on a 95* day in traffic (Pre Andrews 21G geared cams)
Today cruising at around 60 MPH in 90* temps I got to and held a steady 205*.
One thing I determined after this VERY cold winter is these engines like it warm.
Understandably, you are in Phoenix and local temps do not help your situation.
I'd to two things. 1) get yourself a Jagg 10 row oil cooler 2) get a SERT, SEST, or TTS and have the bike PROPERLY tuned. It will make a HUGE difference in temps, rideability, and longevity of your engine.
