Just bought an '05 road king classic (vivid black with white walls) 3days ago with lots of chrome on the motor, screaming eagle mufflers/intake, chrome controls, 2 wind shields, back rest, chrome floorboards (driver and pass.), chrome rings around headlight and driving lights, chrome gas caps w/ LED fuel gauge, small harley clock near clutch lever, LED tail light and turn signals (rear). Bike had 7,600miles on it, paid $13,500
If it fit your budget than hell ya it's a good deal...Can't go wrong on an 05...Did you get a service history on the bike? Some things to watch out for are the cam chain tensioners and valve guide seals.
I actually bought it from an individual who bought the bike new in '05. Said right after he bought it his wife got pregnant and he just didn't ride it much. He used mobil 1 syn oil in it and the tires were still stock, I could tell by his truck and garage he took care of his things.
Even though the tires look good, I would consider changing them out. 5 years sitting aint good. Check to DOT build date on them. They are probally 7 years old. Dry rot!

I would say you got a very ok deal. Let me tell you what a GOOD deal is.
My daughters boyfriend just passed is MSC and has his license.
He wants to buy a Harley
His dad rides one and knows a guy in town who no longer can make the payments.
He goes down to look at the bike and rides off with a 2007 Dyna Super Glide with 900 original miles on it in MINT FLAWLESS brand new condition that has a Vance & Hines exhaust, drag bars, custom risers, Mustang seat (along with the original), custom grips. Bike is blue with that silver cased motor and silver cast wheels. Tank dash is black along with black speedo.
$7000.00 cash.
Now THAT is a GOOD deal.
It doesn't matter what I think. If you are happy with the deal you made then its a GOOD DEAL. Sounds like you scored a beauty.
