Just in case anyone is wondering about my dealer troubles and the desire to be driving a RK rahter than my Dyna, here is the latest.
Tropical Storm Arlene prevented me from making the trip to the Georgia dealer to make the trade on Saturday. Gave me plenty of time to think while I was doing the 1000 mile service on my Super Glide.
1. The wife and I purchase 5.5 acres of land last week and that depleted the savings somewhat.
2. We leave for Ukraine on the 25th for about 3 weeks on a mission trip to help 250+ orphans.
The combination of these 2 things was wearing heavy on me as I was laying on the floor, changing the fluids and thinking.
I thought - "This sure is a nice bike I have. If I ride it a while longer, it wont hurt anything. I will enjoy it just fine. Buying the land and going to see those kids is far more important right now. They will be making plenty of RK's while I am gone and plenty more after that."
One more thing added to the mixture. I REALLY do not want to see my bike sitting at a dealer knowing that he is going to make profit off my accesories that I have added. If there is a profit to be made - I need to make it.
So I will keep the Dyna for now. It will sit for about a month while I am gone, but I will come back and ride "Ole Blue" for a while and think some more. Its only time.
If I were to pass on today to my reward, at least I would have owned a Harley. Lots of people cant say that. I'm happy.
Best of luck on your trip to the Ukraine. My wife made two trips to Moldova. I worked for 5 years in Asia and North Africa. If you've never experienced life in places like that, it will change you forever.
