Default Need Grips

Hi
I had these rock solid grips on my 89 flhtp and decided to try some hard rubber grips but they really have no ribs to grip on the throttle and I'm finding it hard on the hand for long rides. Can I get some experienced input on what you've found as a great handle bar grip?
On another note I only have a single throttle cable on the bike and I'm finding or thinking this maybe contributing to the problem as the spring is very strong on the carb.
My bars have the air valve on the clutch side so this may narrow my options.

I use ailerons on my bike and couldn't be happier. Look and feel great. You could try putting a throttle lock on your handle bar to reduce the strain from the return spring.

I don't know if they will work but I have the Harley Nostalgic style rubber grips on my 05. I have slight carpol tunnel in both my hands and these are very comfortable for long days.

Avons, best I have found. Easy to put on, no glue.

Thanks for input, I see the iso with throttle boss has the removeable ends which sounds like they may do the trick. Just came back from a 2 hour ride and I tried using just the weight of my arm turning the throttle and what a differnce so I can see how the throttle boss could help as well.
