I m expriencing something I was wondering if anyone else has run across this. My bike started this a few weeks ago and has gotten progressively worse. Today on a 64 mile run it quit 9 times, when I say quit it shuts completley down for 1 second, all instruments bounce to off, radio shuts off, no throttle response and then in the next 2 seconds as soon as the fuel pump sends the fuel back it fires back up and all goes back to normal. I am sure you can see how dangerous this is. It is going back to the shop tomorrow where they say it must be a main circuit breaker kickiing in and out. Just curious if I am the only one having this issue. Thanks
Dunno about a main circuit but have you checked your battery cables to make sure they aren't loose? Had it happen on my EG in a canyon twice. Got home popped the seat and sure enough had a loose cable. Would hate to see you spend $$ on something that might be a quick fix. Good luck.
mine would quit on me when I first got it. The dealer found that the ECM wasn't plugged in completely. When I got it they had to replace the battery because it sat to long in storage. The tech who put in the new battery didn't wait for the click when he put it back together. So when riding it, it would spread apart and the bike would die.
I had the same issue with my '03 Ultra Classic. On a trip to Golden Colorado, the engine died and all of the accessories stopped working. I was between Texline Texas and Clayton New Mexico at 4 O'clock in the morning when it happened. After getting it to the nearest H-D dealer, they could not figure out what the problem was except that the accessories fuse was blown. After replacing the fuse it started up but still had a code that they cleared and sent me on my way. I worried about it all the way to Colorado and home. 2 miles from home on the return trip, it did it again.
What it turned out to be was, I had replaced the stock Black screws that clamps the brake reservoir to the handlebars with chrome screws and had pinched the cruise and kill switch wires.

Well looks like that was what it was, the cable was not really what I would call loose, but not tight either. Tightened it up gave it a 80 mile test ride. Perfect so far. Thanks.
There was a battery cable connection issue on some 08 Ultras. The battery post screw is too long and bottoms out before properly tightening the cable on the post, leaving the cable slightly loose. When the bike gets hot it would loose contact.
