While riding this past Saturday, my buddy had his battery go dead about halfway through the trip.
We were able to push start it at a couple of stops heading home, but after the third time the engine would not idle down...no matter what we tried.
I'm no mechanic, but I suspect that the computer wasn't getting enough juice from the battery to adjust the electronic fuel injection...but that is just my own uneducated guess.
Luckily, he had AAA+, which came and got the bike and towed it home.
If it was simply a battery issue, do you think this will be resolved once he puts a new battery in?
Isn't an 08 Touring bike by chance?
If so there is a slight bug in the TBW. Cause is hitting the kill switch with the throttle partially open.
Fix is to cycle the Ignition switch 4 times leaving it in each position (off/run) for a few seconds.
