I don't have the J & S but I do find that the T handle is a handy option. As others have said, probably not necessary, but nice to have IMHO.
As for the oil pan option I think the J & S has the same type of "H" braces that I have. So it's basically free to rig up a simple shelf that'll hold an oil catcher. I just used this piece of 1 in plank and screwed two "c" shaped brackets on the underside so I can hook those under the cross brace and let the shelf cantelever out as a wo0rk table.
Great idea Clint55!!
I'll use that idea when I buy my pitbull at tbe Sturgis rally this year...
Thanx..
I bought the J&S from my neighbor an hour ago. $180 for the jack and the oil drip pan plus he threw in two tie downs and a generic MC cover.
I think the bottle jack needs to be replaced. It works but I have to pull the bottle jack foot pump back up by hand after pushing down on it. I checked the hyrdaulic fluid level and it is good and I purged it of air. I sent an email to J&S to see if the bottle jack would be replaced under warranty since the jack is less than two years old. If not I guess I'll have to shell out the $35 for a new bottle jack which brings the total to $215. I think I still got a good deal?
