Default Bad starter?

So I blew the belt on my 01 rk a while back, and finally had time to get it back together. I went out to fire it up yesterday and the starter started clicking, like the battery was dead. So I threw the charger on for a while, tried again and still the same thing! I pulled the primary cover off to make sure that the starter is engaging, and it is. It seems like it doesn't have enough to crank the motor over. What gives?

Twincam you were right! The way I had the ground tucked out of the way I didn't even notice that I hadn't hooked it up. My stupidity!! Thanks brother.

I always thought is was a **** poor design that you have to loosen the starter bolts to pull the inner primary. I have seen plenty of people forget to tighten them.
