I just had my left side lock latch (small metal piece and nut) fall off on a poker run Saturday.
Bike has 1300 miles on it and I was wondering if anyone else has run into this before.
Looks like there was no locking compound on the threads,of course.....
I'm sure the dealer will cover it,but now I'm concerned about other fasteners.
Last bike was a Buell Lightning XB12S and there was locking compound on darn near every nut and bolt on the bike.
Seems like my Glide doesn't have any on any bolt I've messed with yet.
Curious thing is that while perusing my factory manual, doesn't mention locking compound very often for most things.
Funny thing was , I had the dealer do the 1000 mile check last Thursday and they didn't mention anything unusual or any concerns.
I thought only "old harleys" used to shed non critical parts on the highway as you rode.........

I had the same thing happened to my '03 Ultra Classic. I checked the setup on the other bag and found it a little loose. Replaced the missing one with a new one, so far so good without any thread lock.
