Default Shock Advice needed

The shocks on my 2006 Street Glide have been bottoming out lately. This happens when riding two up with my GF. We're both over 200 lbs which I am sure contributes. I added air into them last spring, but this only made the bike ride way too stiff. I've dropped the pressure back to where it was but it the bottoming out is worse now. Problem is I get a lot of complaints from my passenger about the rough ride on old roads. Are the shocks worn? Do I need to get longer or better ones to improve the ride? Telling my GF to shut up and stop complaining seems to work at first, but the problem just comes back the next day or sooner. Good advice is appreciated.

I put the HD premium touring shocks on my 2010 Street Glide. I'm not sure what years they fit and don't fit, but they certainly made a huge difference in comfort. They keep the low profile (12 inch) look but greatly improve the ride. Unfortunately they sell for $499 from Harley. Certainly there are other options as well, but these worked for me.
