I use mine all the time. It's been said here before but--if you take the heel shifter off. Throw it in a storage bag. If the toe shifter breaks it's the same part. Makes for an easy roadside fix.

this should answer the question: i don't even know if my boot toe can fit under the toe shifter. only upshift with the heal.

My feet are too big for a heal shifter and never liked it. It was off the day I brought it home.

No I like the room more than the need to learn to shift another way...

Took them off the last bike also, I had put Fatboy boards on my Softail

I love the heel shifter and would never want to be without it.

This topic was discussed just a few months ago. I still cannot believe so many people have heel shifter hate. But whatever floats the boat i guess.

I use my heel shifter constantly and even put on Harley's swivel heel shifter. Gives lots of footboard space on long rides.

Here it is normally:

Here it is flipped out:

My 08 UC is My first bike that has a heel shifter. Used it once or twice and it felt awkward shifting with it. Never used it again. It's still on the bike though, left it there so I won't scratch the primary with My boot.

I always use the heel, always. I don't really get why you wouldn't. It's a quick, easy natural move. I would, however, like to know the thought, science, ergonomics, reasons for the original heel/toe. I can't think of another brand that uses them. Maybe the Honda Dream ( remember those?).

I need it because my ankle doesn't bend very well, especially if I have my boots on.
