I recently purchased a bra to protect my fairing during an upcoming two-week road trip out west. I also purchased a set of Freedom Wings Plus. After I installed everything tonight, I noticed the Freedom Wings won't shut all the way due to the bra. Anyone have this combo and able to shut the wings all the way? I may take the bra back off?
I only have the HD wings w/o bra so can't advise. Don't really like the bra cover b/c had a car one & it dulled the paint over time. I'll just keep scrubbing bugs...good luck.
I think you will find that the bra will do more damage than the bugs... Bra's tend to flap with the wind and rub the paint off... Anything rubbing on paint, even your finger, will eventually take the paint off, and the bra is harsher than your finger.
As an example, I am sure you have seen metal statues, or metal objects, in public places, which people keep touching. They are all polished smooth just by people touching them.
If you really want protection, you should look into stick-on clear plastic but I am not sure if anyone makes it for harleys.
At MB bike week 3 years ago there was a vendor installing the 3M clear protector over the paint. After about a year, the clear film started to get a yellow, faded hue to it and made the paint look terrible. Plus, the edges were rough and you could see where it was trimmed around the fairing. My buddy paid a small fortune to have it put on and wish he had his money back. Ended up peeling it off when it faded to that yellow hue.
