Depends on how much the shop shaves off. They make "perfect fit" pushrods. They are non adjustable and come in various lengths. Check the SE catalog on the HD website.

I've used adjustables in four builds and haven't had a problem yet. They make it a lot easier if you decide to play musical cams.

Thats my 2 cents...
with a caveat... You can use the stock pushrods in that way only if the base circle for the new cams matches the old... Otherwise, you need to make them the right length for the new cams anyway.

Dalbergia ...yeah, good call on the base circle. I guess I need to check that on the Woods 6-6 cams. Anyone running stock (non-adjustable) pushrods with a Woods 6-6 cam install?

Lots of great feedback on this thread (as always at HDforums.com), thanks Dudes! However, there is obviously 2 philosophies reporting here. So, I guess I just have to make a "command decision" and live with it. My inclination is to "error on the safe side" ...do the extra work, use the non-adjustable pushrods, and hopefully sleep better at night. I guess if I were going to play "musical cams" like one rider posted, I'd do the adjustable pushrods. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to be satisfied with the TW6-6 cams. Besides, its a long cold winter in Alaska, so I will have plenty of time to tear into it.

Any other input on this? Keep the feedback coming!

Thanks!
