What kinda miles do people have on there H/K radios? I have a 09 and have 10,000 but it sounds like ill have to be replacing it not to long from now. Why are people replacing the factory unit with anothe H/k. If it took a crap on me twice id be going to a aftermarket radio. What is a good aftermarket radio for a Harley bagger?

I have 21,000 miles on my '09. I have changed the speakers to J&M 7.25 and have added CB/Intercom. In process of rear speakers too. Works great for me.
I have 20,000 miles on my '09 Ultra and mine works fine but I do have a question. If you replace the HK with an aftermarket do you loose the intercom or is that a seperate unit?
I have a 2006 with 29,000 miles on it and it works great 85% of the time. The other 15% is the CD player skipping too much, but I think that has more to do with the crappy road conditions out here in SoCal. When I am on at least moderately smooth roads or highways, CD's work great. I have been thinking of sending it out to Iron Cross Audio for a refurbishment and update... but it doesn't fail enough for me to justify that kind of skrill for now.
Almost 15K on my 09. No issues with my radio. I complain about the cheap speakers but that's a whole nother issue. I burn my mp3 on disc and get 6-8 hours of riding without a hitch.
+3 for me. Way better than the Radio Sound units I have had in the last three Harleys I owned. I have had all three different kinds that Radio Sound produced for Harley.(1986, 1989 and 1998 Ultra)
Your radio is NOT an Harman/Kardon. It is from Radio Sound. So you can't blame H/K for any problems you have had.
harley oem stereos in general..never were any good.. i wish my controls still worked thou
