I have 08 street glide. Starting last 2-3 weeks now when I ride my bike about 30 mins or more my hand start getting numb on my right hand. It doesnt happen before.any idea ?
Thanks
You're getting Carpo tunnel from riding too much, use your cruise control more . Pretty soon your face is gonna start cracking from smiling so much, use utter balm.
It's a common symptom. You're compressing the Ulnar nerve that runs in your palm. It's the same nerve nerve that you hit at the end of your elbow when you hit the "funny bone". Maybe as another suggested, you're holding on too tight and along with the vibration of the engine is causing your numbness.
Get a good set of riding gloves with THICK padding for the palm. If you don't like any of the ones at the Harley store, try a bicycle store. I use a pair from the Specialized bike company called "body geometry gloves" when I ride my Harley. Bicycle gloves seem to have a thicker pad for the palm.
Good luck

Agree with the above. What shape bars do you have and do you use a very short windshield? There are various ways you can make it easy to reduce your grip. If you are exposed to the breeze you will tend (we all do!) to hold on tighter as speed and noise increases.
I suggest buying a set of cheap ear plugs. You can get them from a gun shop, possibly a bike store. Wear them and go on a ride along the same route you have previously suffered your problem. The plugs will lower the noise you hear and reduce tension in your arms and hands.
If the problem is reduced, or you find you can travel at a higher speed before the problem comes back, we have it nailed! You can either carry on wearing ear plugs (I have been using them since the late 70s on every trip of any length), or look into other ways of reducing the grip you apply when riding.
Same on the bicycle store. I use Bell from Target. More Gel padding than my Leather ones....and no you do not lose the feel of the bars, but it does cut down on any vibration.
