Default Saddlebag lock question

Yesterday I was trying out my brand new Garmin 855 GPS for the first time. Works great on a bike with speakers cause it has a MP3 player and you can plug it into your radio and listen to your tunes and then it will override the player with directions right thru your speakers. Highly recommend this GPS! Wish I still had it! Visited three dealers and at the last one I removed the GPS and Ram mount, placed it in a case and put into the saddlebag and locked bag! (Street Glide) When I went to leave it was gone! Bag didn’t look like it was damaged in any way, and lock works fine. Do people have a master key for those type locks? Or can they be picked that fast? Bike was right in front of dealership with people around.

You must have been in the ghetto ....

Stolen from in front of a HD Dealership, I guess scum are everywhere but motorcycle people are normally honest.

As far as a master key, not sure but if anyone has one, the dealers may. Are you sure the bags where locked? Did you report the theft to the police dept who could have possibly dusted the bags for fingerprints...I'm sure the perps left some unless they were wearing gloves. Does the dealership have any surveillance cameras outside?

I have heard of them.
Someone must have seen you place the GPS in the bag.
Did you notify the dealer and were you the only vic?

Sounds pretty unbelievable. Don't really see how that could happen. How long were you away from the bike?

Good recommendations so far. I'd talk to the dealer, the police, & your insurance company! You should end up with a new GPS.

No master keys. These can be picked very easily by anyone that knows anything about the round (ace) type key
That's a bummer.

Sorry guys had to earn a living... The dealership was in Medina,Oh. Nice area middle of the day and lots of people around. I didn't check the bag when before I left as I wasn't that far from home at that point. Did call the dealer and reported it to them. Called Medina police and found the dealer ship is in the township and it would be 2 hours of my time to drive there and back and I doubt if it would really do any good. Could file a claim with insurance but after the deductible not worth the hassle. Called a locksmith and he said there isn’t a master key. My girlfriend says she watched me lock the bag and I was locking it every time we stopped but I wonder if this time I just didn’t…..Well just glad it wasn’t real expensive, I’m out apx $170 bucks for the GPS, case, and cord. Already ordered a new one online and will clip it to my belt from now on. I agree 99% of the Harley riders I have met are nice people, my luck a 1% was around that day.

Default Round keys

17 bikers on ride, two bikes Xactly same, honest mistake, one of the riders tried to open my tour pak. His key didn't work, then realized his bike was farther down the line. He told me about it when I came back to my bike, guess I was with one of the other 99%.
