Handlebars
I bought a set of Heritage bars to put on my 04 Road King Custom. I found the beach bars put my wrists at odd angles. After around 100 miles, they begin to ache from being in that position. Anyway, I called the dealer to have them install thebars at the same time as my 5000 mile service. The service guy tells me the brake lines need to be extended or changed out for the Heritage bars. He is trying to get me to buy the stainless braided lines. I like the look of them but are new brake lines really required? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
What you need to do is to measure the cables and lines from your current bars and then measure what you will need to reach the same point from the new bars. If they are different lengths, then yes...you are going to need to buy new cables. Don't buy the Harley cables....they are WAY overpriced. Look into a set of Barnett stainless cables if need be. The hoses are also important as they need to reach the brake tee on the front forks. You should be able to get the hoses you need at a reasonable price. I do all my own handlebar work including cables, hoses, grips and switch housings. It's not that hard and if you have the service manual for your bike then you should be able to do the work yourself and save a ton of money in labor charges.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

As I understand it, you don't need to buy new cables for a Road King Standard or Classic when switching to Heritage bars, and I KNOW the Road King Custom beach bars have more reach than the either of the other Road King models. I think your service guy is trying to sell you something you don't need.
