Maybe this will get moved to the right section. Went out for a ride tonight on my 02 electra glide classic, and my tachometer started bouncing around all over the place. Any ideas what I should look for, or what would cause this? Sometimes I would pull away from a stop and it would not move until 4th gear, other times it worked fine. A few times it just bounced all over. Motor purred right along and never skipped a beat. Thanks.

Bounced all over the place. Sounds like it fell off the bike. J/K

I would be inclined to think it may be coming unplugged and is making intermittent contact. Pull it apart and check the connection.

Over the years my 03 FI Classic has done this about 10 times. Sometimes the rev counter and sometimes the speedometer. Only pattern I can see is that it tends to do it when the bike has been sitting in the sun and it has been hot +32C. Anyway, it does it for a while and then at some point it settles down and behaves normally. 1st time it really bother me, now it just annoys me
