Windshield Height???
Honestly it is going to be a matter of personal preference no matter what advise you get here. Some like looking the windshield (like driving a cage) others don't (me). Your definition of bad buffeting and others on here will different.
It also depends on your seat height and what position you sit in while riding. It's not something you will figure out right away without trial and error. Most manufacturers explain how to measure your windshield and adjust based on you height.
I just put an 8" Windvest recurve on my EG. At 5' 11" w/2" lift from my mustang seat the wind goes over my helmet with no problem. I can hear my stereo just as good at 70 as I can at 25. I can't personally see putting a 14" windshield on my bike. I'm not the tallest person on the forum but for me that would equate to driving my car or truck.
BTW if your ears are ringing try earplugs or a helmet that covers your ears or both. JMHO

Good advice.
Awesome Sig Pic!
Ya, I always wear ear plugs on sport bikes and on the Potato Bike when I'm not wearing a helmet.
