Im looking for a cam that will make my fuel injected bike sound more like the carb bikes.. That classic Harley lope.. you know? Can anyone suggest a grind for me? Power isn't a huge concern for me, Im more into style and sound.
My brother has the same motor but has the delphi iggy and open pipes and he has a great lope... He is a second owner and doesnt know if there had been any engine work done.
I think the SE204 sounds even better than the 203 due to the early exhaust open. Comp cams builds the SE204, and they do the same trick with some of their automotive ("Thumpr") cams. The 204 also happens to be a very good bolt in cam. Go to youtube, you can find some sound clips. I've got the 204 and Rinehart true duals, and it's got a killer idle. Doesn't sound carbureted, but close.
And, yeah, the 211 does have a great idle lope. It needs a little more compression, though.
I don't think that any of the newer motors are going to give you that true lope that the earlier motors had. The 204 certainly sounds better than the stock cam that is for sure.
