Exhaust ping

On hot days when i get through with a ride my SG with V&H exhaust makes a pinging sound until it cools down. What is the cause and if it curable

I think it's the pipes/heat shields cooling back down after being hot. Expansion/contraction deal going on. No "fix" that I know of. Not hurting anything!

thats the metal recontracting after expanding from heat build-up. Nothing you can do. It's a natural phenomenon.

It's just the pipes going back to there original size, if you listen all kinds of vehicles do it.

I know vehicles do it but mine was sounding like the the Seattle symphony

Surely its normal from braking in the new pipes - just put Vance & Hines high output on my eagle and she purrrrrrs and rumbles like the wind. Just ride and SOAR that baby!
