Unhappy Heal shifter coming off

Any body else have problems with their heal (or toe) shifter falling off? Can 't seem to keep it tight enough to stop working off.

Mine was fine until I adjusted it. Then no matter what I did it would come loose. So I waited til it fell off at 65 and put the chrome cap on the end. Looks better.

You might check the shaft for wear... rather than the shifter... had to replace mine last year

Mine fell off while I was out of town 2 weeks ago.
Fortunately I had ordered a folding lever that was waiting for me when I got home..
This one I have safety-wired to the toe shifter..

A woman riding a Softail Custom had hers fall off (obviously not heel shift but still) in the middle of our MSF class. That really got the Harley bashers started. Anyways, the instructor fixed her up with some locktite and it stayed on the rest of the class.

Ding...ding....ding! That's the correct answer. My size 14 boot has caught that damn thing at some pretty inopportune times and created some high anxiety situations. My recommendation is to get a nice shift lever, peg and the chrome spacer and be done the heal shifter...
