Default black oil cooler

I have an 09 flhrc and I just ordered an oil cooler 26155-09. It comes with a chrome cover. I dont like alot of chrome so I figured maybe I'll powdercoat it or paint. Well, yesterday looking at the 2011 flhrc, I notice the oil cooler has a black cover. Any of you know if I can order just that cover?

Hopefully it's the same cooler as yours. Can't answer your question, have my own story. Have a '03 FLHTI, picked up the 103" cooler w-thermostat in housing when they became available. Cover available for it was chrome also. Picked up the cover but did not install. Powdercoaters I approached had a $85 minimum charge. Several years later, a guy I know was having some parts powder coated satin black and he threw my cover in with his parts. Hooked him up with some beer for his generosity.

I had small opening, rigid wire screen tack welded to my cover. Then sent it to the powder coater. Makes an effective stone guard !

Now THIS is an outstanding idea. One rock could have you out of the race if it hits the oil cooler!

Do you have pics of this by chance? I don't have an oil cooler on my bike, but I may go with one by next spring just as a precautionary thing and I do like this idea of a rock guard.

Unfortunately, no pics. The screen is used as a backing for plaster. The weave kind of looks like miniature safety grate. Since it's down low and powder coated flat black, I wasn't concerned about covering up the tack welds. Heck, it's designed to stop rocks, not look good in a bike show !
