Please take a look at this picture and tell me if a bolt fell out of the tranny housing. The wife was washing her '06 RK yesterday and noticed this. It looks like there should be a bolt there, but on close inspection there might be a little sleeve in there.
If not for a bolt what is it for ?
What I've been told is they use that same cover on different models and some use that hole and others don't. RK's don't use it, not sure which models do.
This. Thats all it is, an alignment dowel and should be there on all bikes with this transmission. There are 2 gearshafts inside the transmission that plug into this side cover and the cover must stay aligned with no movement, hence the dowels.
