uh oh,...here we go...I needed the tank emblems..
we or should I say "I" need a smiles for a fireproof suit!!!
I know it was spendy..but it just didn't look righrt without them on the tank.....LOOK
Hey guys Ive got an 03 road glide in the sterling/ black anniversary colors. I was looking into doing deep bags, fenders, and a stretched tank but since I cant get paint to match the sterling silver I was wondering what my best option would be. Are the tins off my bike worth anything trying to sell them to offset the cost of the new components are am I better off selling the bike and getting a more standard color that can be matched?
I know this is a long shot and I'm bringing back the dead but sis you ever sell your tins? Please let me know. Thanks
YES, the 2003s are worth a lot more than the 2008 anniversary tins. A quick check on eBay found 2 sets, none from baggers (Dyna and Softail)all for between 1100 and 2400 for tank and fenders only!
I've had that thrown in my face a few times....."they're selling for X dollars on Ebay".....no they're asking for X dollars, doesn't mean they will get it.
You could list yours for $5000, then somebody else selling a set would say..."they're selling for $5000 on Ebay". If there were enough of them listed, you could figure out an average price, or follow a listing to see what it actually sells for, if at all.
Probably the best thing to do would be to list them "best offer" with a reserve. Then you would get an accurate idea of worth.
even though this is an old thread, anyone wanting to match the silver on their black and silver anniversary bikes need to look no further than a dupont store and ask for the code for a 2003 ford, harley edition pickup.the code is the same thing.
