On the other hand why wouldn't the MOCO include them if they thought they were needed?
Uh,.... same question could be asked about the compensators and other HD weak points.
I have no opinion on the need for rollers (or lack of), just responding to the "why wouldn't they" comment. In their eyes, it's all about dollars, not reliability.
If they can "get away" with something, why spend money, increase cost?

Ed are you talking about the stock compesator or the replacement that came with my crate motor?
Here's my opinion on HD being crap and their people screwing the customer.
Most customers don't think they are being screwed with crap parts. The gurus on forums might know it, but the general public doesn't and doesn't care. I only know my stuff is crap, because I go on Harley forums and they tell me so. It's like going to a USA rally only to find out the USA sucks.
Most people are happy with their rides. I'm at a HD bar now. When I bring up what I'm trying to do to my bike they look at me like I'm on drugs. Ok, ignore that part, but you guys get the picture. They don't think anything is wrong with their bikes. They love HD. They love to own them.

I was just referring to the weak design of the stock compensators.
You are correct, most riders don't realize many of these things.
They aren't out researching like we are.
