I would. It's way to easy to pull the heads off a motor on the stand and check deck height. Also be easy to correct it at that time rather than deal with it later when chasing tuning issues and/or low power.

Will the builder check deck height automatically on the "KIT" during assembly?

they used roller "tappets" lifters.if your talking about roller rockers. no they didn't use them.do you think roller rockers are necessary? why?

HD doesn't, when they build the stock motors.

Probably depends on the builder. I have my doubts if a dealer tech would check it. Probably not in the install instructions and even if he did check it, they weren't being paid to correct it if it was off.

If a performance oriented indy shop was assembling it for you..... probably (I hope).

I was going to ask the same question. Someone please explain in easy to understand terms.

I'll be getting head work as soon as it is too cold to ride. Maybe the Hurricane heads or just get mine worked over. What you think?
